Vanilla lambed Sunday night. It was a huge surprise. It was the earliest any of our ewes has ever lambed, and the ewes who do lamb early usually are on the smaller side or have twins. Vanilla is a big girl (compared to the rest of our sheep) and she delivered a single ewe lamb. Her lamb, who is named Sunshine, is a white ewe. She has a few spots. She is the first of Hawk's lambs. The rest of the lambs this year will be his.
I expected Cinnamon, Vanilla's twin, to lamb early as well. Although she wasn't much overdue, she did go past her due date. Cinnamon lambed Tuesday afternoon. She delivered a single dark brown ewe lamb we've named Tempest.
Meanwhile, Peanut was looking enormous. On Friday night, we checked on her at 9:30. She was acting completely normal. At 11, I looked at the video monitor to see Peanut licking a lamb. Her first lamb is a brown gulmoget ram lamb (Typhoon). He was quickly followed by a white ram (Hurricane).

Frost, Flurry, & Mimosa |
Frost is getting the hang of it, but Flurry is still learning. (By the way, if you don't know the story behind mom Mimosa's eyelid injury it is here.)
Sassy, Ice, & Snow |
New to the pasture: Sassy with Ice (in the front) and Snow (in the back).
Fog with Opal |
Sometimes it's difficult to tell white rams apart in photos but this is Fog. Once again, Opal has passed her amazing fleece down to a ram lamb.
I've updated the sale page--it's now TWO pages. Ewes can be found here, and rams/wethers are located here.

An Exercise in Futility (Or, Really Terrible Lamb Pictures)
Trying to take pictures of the lambs is frustrating!
Just when I have a great picture lined up, Cirrus photobombs. Or she's chewing on the camera so I can't even get a picture.
Frequently, the lambs are moving too fast...
...or they won't look up.
Sometimes I'm too interesting and they get too close.
If the barn doors are closed, the flash is on. The flash gives the sheep a creepy blue eyes that I can't fix with the red eye corrector. My oldest son says the black sheep look purple as well.

Solstice is trying to pose but Cirrus jumps in front of the camera. |
Solstice again. The white blob is Cirrus. |
As soon as the doors open, they are running down the hill. |
...or they won't look up.
Aurora thinks the ground is much more interesting than me. |
