Cypress gets to stay on as a ram. Why? His markings are gorgeous, he's a twin, his fleece is a nice color, he was on the small side when he was born, his momma is Hazel (a very nice sheep herself)... His behavior could ruin everything for himself. If he only knew...
The problem is that Cypress likes to stick his head through the fence. We get at least one lamb per year who does it. This is the first year we've had a ram do it. His horns get stuck. I have no idea how he manages to get his head through the fence because it's practically impossible to remove it.
It won't be long until he's big enough that he can't do it at all. Nevertheless, over the weekend we put up a low electric line on the inside of the fence. So far, so good.
