The Rock & The Backyard & Pelican (again)

The lambs love the large rock in front of the barn.  They often play king (or queen) of the hill.

Pelican is popular with all of us humans.

Barack O'Llama went on a tiny adventure this week-- he visited the "backyard."  He wasted no time getting comfortable.

Pelican & Friends

There haven't been a lot of lamb pictures on the blog.  It's hard to get good pictures when the sun doesn't come out, and it's nearly impossible when the sheep are in the barn--where they usually stay when it's rainy.

The sun came out long enough for me to get pictures of some of the lambs (and a few older sheep, too.)  Pelican and I are pals so I have a lot of pictures of him.

Pelican is happy to see me.

Finally, Opal

And we're all done!  (Unless there were consequences for the ram break-ins.  If there were any, they'd be due in less than two weeks, and at this point, we'd usually be able to tell.)

Opal lambed right on time, but it was still a surprise.  I was expecting her to be late like most of the other ewes this year.

Opal's lamb is a ram.  He looks just like her lamb from last year, Bergamot, except that he's gray and black rather than tan and brown.  He seems like he's going to have an excellent fleece.

We've named him Peregrine.  We haven't decided on whether he will have a nickname or not.
